Cutlery care & maintenance

Beautiful cutlery can make all the difference to your dinner table. If you follow these simple guidelines when you wash and store your cutlery, it will keep its brilliance for years to come.

DISHWASHER

Check that your cutlery is designed to be washed in a dishwasher up to 65°C/149°F. However, we remind these simple instructions:

  1. 18/10 stainless steel cutlery are dishwasher-safe at 65 °C/149°F.

  2. Colour cutlery/flatware are dishwasher-safe at middle/low temperature (50-55 °C/122°F-131°F). Do not use alcaline detergents that contain alcohol or perfume.

  3. Cutlery with Swarovski inserts and cutlery with golden and silver plated decorative elements are not covered by warranty in case of dishwashing. Only wash by hand.

  4. Cutlery with Swarovski inserts and cutlery with golden and silver plated decorative elements are not covered by warranty in case of dishwashing. Only wash by hand.

- Follow the instructions that come with your dishwasher.
- Remove and hand-dry the cutlery as soon as the wash cycle has finished.
- Load knives separately from other pieces and with the blades pointing downwards (this avoids the possibility of accidental cuts).
- Avoid to use a rinse-and-hold cycle and to leave cutlery in a damp atmosphere because they can get stained or damaged.
- Don’t mix silver plated and stainless steel items in the same cycle.

HANDWASHING

- Use a liquid or a cream detergent. Never use powder ones.
- Do not use stainless sponges or abrasive cleaners.
- Avoid alcaline detergents that contain alcohol or perfume.

MAINTENANCE TIPS

- Prolonged contact of the cutlery contact with salt, vinegar, egg, tomato sauce, acid fruits, detergents or some of the mineral salts in tap water can cause pitting and staining.
- Take special care with knives. The blades have a high carbon content, which creates a sharper cutting edge but is also more prone to corrosion.
- In case of stains, clean them with a stainless steel polish.
- Never leave stainless steel cutlery in damp conditions, as this may cause staining and requires polishing.

COLOUR CUTLERY/FLATWARE WITH ACRYLIC HANDLE

Handles are made through the manual manufacturing of acrylic sheets. This makes every handle unique thanks to its veins and/or number and concentration of particles. Any difference among handles is the symbol of their uniqueness and must not be considered a manufacturing defect.
